Disney Cruise Line Offers Amazing Stage Shows!

From Broadway-style shows to adventurous deck parties, Disney Cruise Line offers a full itinerary of exciting entertainment for guests to enjoy on every sailing.

“As part of the Disney Cruise Line experience, our guests have told us that they love seeing our beloved Disney characters come to life onstage,” said Jim Urry, vice president of entertainment for Disney Cruise Line.

On the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, entertainment abounds with live shows, deck parties, character meet-and-greets, movies and much more…
Live Stage Shows

Broadway-style musicals are presented nightly at the magnificent 977-seat Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder:
  • The Golden Mickeys” – Guests of every age are entertained by the creative blending of theatrical song and dance, animated film, video and special effects into the most technologically advanced stage show at sea. This quintessential musical is a salute to Walt Disney and his legacy of animation magic, featuring many of Disney’s most famous and infamous characters.
  • Disney Dreams . . . An Enchanted Classic” – This signature Disney Cruise Line show tells a bedtime story featuring Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella, Ariel, Timon and Pumbaa and many other popular Disney characters who together teach a young girl the power of her dreams.
  • Twice charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story” – Filled with humor, music and adventure, “Twice Charmed” immerses the audience in a story that begins where the original ended and features Cinderella, Prince Charming and other favorites from the original fairy tale classic – along with an original and wickedly funny character named Franco DiFortunato. (Disney Magic)
  • Toy Story-The Musical” – The toy-sized adventure of Buzz Lightyear and Woody comes to life in one of the most elaborate musicals ever produced for a cruise ship. Based on the hit Disney•Pixar animated movie, this innovative adaptation conveys all of the humor, heart and fun of Buzz and Woody’s very first adventure together. (Disney Wonder)
  • All Aboard: Let the Magic Begin” – Featuring variety acts, musical performances and a cavalcade of Disney characters, this production tells the story of a young cruise passenger trying to achieve his dream of becoming a seafaring captain, while inviting guests to sit back and Be Our Guest for a fun-filled week. (Disney Magic)
  • Remember the Magic: A Final Farewell” – Guests join together on the final night of their cruise to remember the magic of their Disney Cruise Line vacation. (Disney Magic)
Party on Deck
In addition to nightly stage productions, Disney Cruise Line brings the upper decks of the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder to life with incredible live entertainment.
The fun begins with Sail Away Celebration a “welcome aboard” show on embarkation day. The party is dance-along, sing-along fun for the whole family. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other Disney characters decked out in their seafaring finest lead the fun. The show is a celebration of the fun aboard a Disney cruise, building to the exciting sounding of the ship’s horn that signals the beginning of an incredible voyage.
On one night during each cruise, guests are encourage to don their eye patches, swarthy swaggers and “pirate finest” for the adventurously themed deck party, Pirates IN the Caribbean. With stunt performers repelling from atop the funnel, an epic battle at sea ensues as the good guys take on the villains. Characters such as Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Captain Mickey, Minnie and Goofy join guests for a raucous good time, complete with music, dancing and a spectacular Disney-style grand finale – the only fireworks display at sea!

Characters, Movies and More!
Opportunities to meet Disney characters for photos and autographs occur throughout each cruise, during scheduled appearances and other intimate and spontaneous character moments.
The Walt Disney Theatre and Buena Vista Theatre host first-run Disney film premieres, allowing cruisers to enjoy a film’s opening at the same time it’s making its nationwide release on land. Both state-of-the-art theaters feature Disney Digital 3-D technology, bringing a whole new dimension of cinematic entertainment to the high seas. Both theaters also show classic Disney films.
Ariel Vision, a jumbo LED screen on deck 9, shows movies and major sporting events, and enhances outdoor entertainment and deck parties by the Goofy family pool area.
Topping off each cruise, characters and performers bid a final farewell at Til We Meet Again in the atrium lobby, ending the cruise with a Disney pixie-dusted kiss goodnight.

How to Prepare for a Vacation at a Disney Park pt 2

New Series: How to Prepare for a Vacation at a Disney Park

What Tickets Do You Need?!
Copyright: Disney Travel Company

The Magic Your Way ticket system lets guests decide what ticket features best fit their Disney vacation plans … and that’s what they buy.  Guests decide the number of days and whether optional features – park hopping, visits to Disney attractions outside the theme parks and “non-expiration” of tickets – are important.  Some price and value considerations…

Per-day ticket costs decrease for longer stays.  A seven-day ticket without optional features brings down the per-day cost to less than half the price, per day, compared to seven individual one-day Base Tickets.  And the per-day cost of a 10-day ticket is less than one-third the price, per day, compared to 10 individual one-day Base Tickets.

Kids under age 3 are provided free admission to all Walt Disney World theme parks.

The Water Park Fun & More option can produce significant savings for recreation and entertainment outside the theme parks. Here’s what you need to know about the option:
  • It provides admissions to the guest’s choice of Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, DisneyQuest, Disney’s Oak Trail golf course and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
  • The number of admissions it provides varies depending upon the number of days of the Base Ticket (the option added to a one- or two-day Base Ticket provides two visits to the guest’s choice from among the listed attractions; added to a seven-day Base Ticket, it provides seven visits).
  • It costs $57.  Considering that one-day admission to a water park is $52 or to DisneyQuest is $44, substantial savings are possible.
The Park Hopper option can enhance the value of the vacation by allowing a guest to take advantage of special fun offered at different times of day at different Disney theme parks.  Other potential Park Hopper benefits:
  • If the vacation stay is longer, “hopping” is perfect for repeating favorite attractions at the various parks.
  • If the guest is staying “on property,” park-hopping can be the ticket to extra time in the parks (more about this under “Making the best use of time”).
MackeyMouse Travel can help you decide which ticket is perfect for your family and your vacation. Contact us today to discuss your options: mackeymousetravel@yahoo.com
