Celebrity Cruise News

Celebrity updating it's mattresses and bedding.
As an adjunct to its "Solsticizing" program, which aims to retrofit its older Millennium-class vessels with features from its ultra-modern Solstice-class ships, Celebrity Cruises has announced a new fleetwide bedding program called "eXhale."

Debuting aboard Celebrity Infinity when she emerges from Solsticizing on December 3, the new eXhale bedding will feature mattresses designed for Celebrity by Reverie, each hand-made in the U.S. with natural raw materials such as bamboo and sustainable natural rubber. According to Celebrity, the mattresses are "almost entirely recyclable and biodegradable," which is pretty cool. The mattresses feature removable, hypo-allergenic, antibacterial, and dust-mite-resistant covers and a breathable plush pillow top that allegedly "helps circulate air through the mattress and keep guests cool as they sleep." The mattresses will be fitted with custom-embroidered, 100% Egyptian cotton linens. Penthouse Suites, Royal Suites, Celebrity Suites, and Sky Suites will get premium Reverie mattresses that can be tailored to a guest's preference, within a range of options from extra-plush to extra-firm.

Ultimately, the new eXhale beds will be rolled out across the Celebrity fleet, including aboard the new Celebrity Reflection when she launches in fall 2012.

A tangentially related PS: When Infinity returns from dry dock, she'll also offer bow-to-stern Wi-Fi, so you can lounge on your comfy mattress and surf the web. Or whatever.
